Happy Hearts Bookmark A Valentine Crochet Bookmark

How about a Happy Heart bookmark to crochet for your favorite valentines? These little valentine gifts will delight the book lover in your life and you’ll have some fun making them. I especially love that this Valentine crochet bookmark is a great project for beginners. Let’s give them a go!

Pattern Instructions:

Materials:
Size E 3.5 mm hook
White Baby sport yarn ( I used Bernat Baby Sport)
Pink yarn of choice ( I used Red Heart Super Saver)
Yarn needle
Small amount of pink or red yarn for embroidery and for stringing hearts
together.
Small amount of fiberfill
Rnd 1: 6 SC in Magic Loop (6). If you are new to this stitch or need a quick tutorial, check out my helpful tutorials page, here.
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each ST around. (12) Fasten off, leaving a tail for stitching.
Repeat rnd 1-3 but don’t fasten off the second time as we will be
connecting the two heart bumps together.
Rnd 4: Continue crocheting by connecting the first heart bump to the
second with a SLST. SC around both heart bumps to connect in one row.
Rnd 5: SC in next 2 ST, Decrease.* Repeat from * to ** around. (20)
Rnd 6: SC in next ST, Decrease.* Repeat from * to ** around. (13)
Rnd 7-8: SC in each St around. (13)
Stuff with fiberfill.
Rnd 9: Decrease around. (6) Add more fiberfill if needed.
Rnd 10: Decrease around (3)

Fasten off, leaving a tail for weaving. Using a yarn needle, weave end through the top
of each of the three stitches in the row. Pull snugly and secure. Weave in end.
Using a contrasting pink yarn and a yarn needle, embroider a heart on one of the
puffy hearts and pull the loose end through the bottom of the heart. Leaving a 10
inch length of string, pull through the bottom of the other heart and again embroider
a heart. Fasten off and weave in end.
