Haunted Ghosts Garland
An Easy, kid friendly DIY
These silly spirits are full of unfinished business.
When Witches go Riding
And Black Cats are seen,
The Moon laughs and whispers,
“Tis near Halloween.”

You can make this chilling, festive garland in no time at all and with very few supplies.
Haunted Ghosts Garland Instructions:
Materials Needed:
White Yarn (or Color of choice)
A small book
A yarn needle
Black Yarn for embroidering and for the garland braid
Step 1: Wrap white yarn around the small book about 50 times.
Step 2: Clip the yarn end and cut a piece of yarn 8 inches long. Thread the yarn needle with the 8 inch yarn piece.
Step 3: Thread the needle through the top gap of the covers of the book so that the needle goes under the yarn bundle. After you have threaded the needle through, remove the needle from the yarn piece and tie the yarn ends together tightly and securely at the top of the book.
Step 4: Cut another piece of white yarn 8 inches long. Carefully remove the yarn bundle from the book and tie the 8 inch piece of yarn around the bundle 1.5 inches from the top end of the yarn bundle to make the head of the ghost. Clip the yarn loops at the bottom edge.
Step 5: Thread the yarn needle with black yarn. Now we will stitch on the eyes by making a few back stitches in the head of the ghost and then doing the same for the other eye. Fasten off by pulling the needle down through the center of the neck and tying it to one of the the loose white yarn strands close to the neck.
Step 6: Repeat Steps 1-6 to make as many ghosts as desired. I made on for each member of my family.
Step 7: Now we will make a yarn braid for the garland. Cut 12 lengths of black yarn 100 inches long each.
Step 8: Tie a knot in one end of the bundle of black yarn. Separate the yarn strings into three sections and braid the length of the yarn strings.
Step 9: Tie the ghosts onto the yarn braid with a 10″ to 12″ space between each Ghost.
Step 10: Hang up your ghost garland to decorate the most haunted part of your home.
