Strawberries on the Vine

May Crochet Bookmark of the Month

*This is a sample post as I learn how to build my blog but feel free to enjoy this pattern as the site is under construction.*

Isn’t May so full of beauty? We get to celebrate our Mothers and enjoy a taco for Cinco de Mayo. The tug of war between the crispness of spring and the warmth of summer keeps me guessing about the weather outside all through the month. The flowers are blooming! My favorites, Peonies, go from round little buds to giant full flowers almost overnight in this month.

I can’t imagine a May without Strawberries. Whether I’m sneaking a found treasure from underneath the leaves in the garden, cutting them up for a salad, blanketing them with whipped cream over pound cake, or cooking them down to make a jam. To me, the smell and taste of strawberries is the perfect accompaniment to the many beauties of May.

While this Strawberry bookmark isn’t edible, I hope you’ll enjoy making it and that it will bring to mind a favorite strawberry recipe that you can whip up and enjoy while reading on a porch swing or in a quiet corner of your favorite park. I’ll share one of my favorite Strawberry recipes too. Happy May and Happy crocheting!
